Okay, so I've been so psyched about the new Bionic Woman tv show. I loved the Bionic Woman and the 6 Million Dollar man when I was a kid. Maybe my expectations were to high....
It wasn't a bad show, just not what I expected. The opening scene was gory as hell for primetime TV. Folks faces half blown off and bloody. A girl who obvioulsy just killed the people with her bare hands is also bloody. Then she gets blown away at close range by a guy who tells her, "I love you." All in the first five minutes. Shit. The rest of the show was just as intense. But intense as in stressful, not as in "ooh, that was gooooood!" My shoulders were all sore at the end of the hour from unwittingly holding them up by my neck.
Another difference? The effects. When Jamie runs, we see the 'anthracites(?)' moving through her body, the metal shifting, etc. The picture blurs when she runs. When she hits or throws someone, they actually hit the wall or ground at real speed -- not slow motion. You know what, all I really need is to hear the little funny music. Hello? That means she's being bionic right now.
I'll probably watch another episode or two, but for only two reasons. To see my chocolate moistness that is Isaiah Washington**, and to attempt to relive my childhood. The first reason might hold me over. The second, not so much. The only resemblance this really has to my beloved Bionic Woman is her name.
**was it just me, or on grey's last night, was christina especially missing burke when she looked at the black patient's brown arms? that was kinda corny.**
